Betty Graubard began her career in art over thirty years ago. Beginning with oils, she soon expanded her medium to acrylics and watercolors. Studying under master artist Zoltan Szabo, Betty honed her skills, and developed a unique style of her own. She has focused on local scenery, Victorian buildings, and seascapes.

Before entering the art world full time however, Betty led a many faceted life. She dabbled in politics and was the first woman elected to the City Council in Fort Bragg. She was once editor of the Mendocino Beacon, worked for the Mendocino County Sheriff's Department and spent time as a legal secretary. Her most cherished position, however, was that of wife and mother.

In 1990 Betty opened the Betty Graubard Art Gallery which she operated for 10 years. After the death of her husband, Betty closed the gallery. She remains active in the art world now painting with the Plein Air Painters of Mendocino and participating in various art-shows during the year. Betty's life has also been blessed by joining with her wonderful companion, John Whatley, with whom she makes her home in Fort Bragg.
